Your own quiet day by the sea in Shirahama.

No frills. Just the sea, a hot spring, and experienced hands.

Our salon is a single apartment in Shirahama, a hot-spring town on Japan's Pacific coast, right by Engetsu Island. In front of the building is a quiet beach inside the bay.

We host only one group a day, so the whole space, and our full attention, is yours. We don't do fancy décor. What we offer is a warm, homey place and therapists with many years of hands-on experience.

No rushing, no schedule to watch. Just a slow day with the sea, the onsen and good care.

Getting here: about 15 minutes by car from Nanki-Shirahama Airport or JR Shirahama Station. Free parking at the building. Shirahama is about 2.5 hours from Osaka by limited express train, or about 1 hour by air from Tokyo Haneda. We share the exact location once your booking is confirmed.

How your day goes

Sea breeze

Start slowly on the quiet beach in front of the salon. On fine summer days, you can also go into the sea. If you would like to try stand-up paddleboarding or other activities, we can introduce the tours run by the dive shop next door.

Eastern medicine check-in

In the way of traditional Chinese medicine, we look at your pulse, tongue and complexion, and talk about how you have been feeling.

Lunch

Lunch at a local restaurant nearby, with food from the area. Lunch is not included in the price.

The treatment (about 3 hours)

In the sea-view living room, we combine a mugwort steam (yomogi-mushi), a far-infrared dome sauna, cupping and warming care into one long, unhurried session.

Onsen and wind-down

Soak in the building's natural hot-spring bath. Then a short chat about Eastern herbal food and nutrition, with simple tips to take home. In some seasons, you can watch the sun set near Engetsu Island.

Built on yin and yang

Our approach comes from the idea of yin and yang in Chinese medicine. As a basic rule, a male therapist (yang) works with women, who tend toward yin, and a female therapist (yin) works with men, who tend toward yang. If you would feel more comfortable with a therapist of your own gender, just tell us. That is always fine.

When two of you come together, we pair the therapists in the same way.

Guests × therapists

Prices include tax, the treatment, the consultation and the hot spring. Lunch and travel are not included.

How to book

1. Send us a DM on Instagram or a message on LINE with your preferred date and course.
2. Once the date is set, we send you a payment link for the deposit (half of the price).
3. Your booking is confirmed when the deposit is paid, and we send you the exact location.
4. You pay the rest on the day.

Your therapists

Pearl Sakamoto

Works with fascia and body balance. Founded Bikyaku Shokunin in Osaka in 2012, a women-only aroma salon with male therapists, and runs a training school for therapists. Looked after models backstage at GirlsAward, one of Japan's biggest fashion events, for three years from 2013. Founder of the Male Therapist Grand Prix and chair of the Japan Male Therapist Association.

EIKO (Eiko Watase)

Runs Resalute, a private esthetic salon in Yoyogi, Tokyo. Known for lymphatic drainage, aroma care and face-line treatments.

When do I pay?

You pay a deposit of half the price when you book, by card or another method through a secure payment link. You pay the rest on the day.

Can I cancel?

Up to 30 days before your visit, we refund the deposit in full. See the booking policy for later cancellations.

I would prefer a therapist of my own gender.

No problem at all. Just let us know when you book.

Is anyone unable to take the treatment?

If you are pregnant, or being treated for a heart or blood pressure condition, the treatment may not be suitable. Please ask us before booking.
